HCCI General Election Candidate endorsements
As part of our General Election campaign “Vote for Home Care”, HCCI endorsed certain candidates based on their history of advocating for home care issues. All candidates we decided to endorse have a strong track record; whether it be calling for improved access to services, calling for the implementation of the Statutory Home Support Scheme, or increasing funding, these candidates are serious about home care.
As our final report of 2024 – Bringing Care Closer to Home – A Review of the Government’s Term – highlights, significant work has been done to improve home care over the last 5 years, such as increased funding for hours, however, we still have a lot to do.
The Home Care Promise
HCCI asked all candidates running in the 2024 General Election to sign our Home Care Promise above. By signing the HCCI pledge, candidates commit to progressing our three key asks of access, expansion, and housing, if elected. See below all candidates who signed the Home Care Promise.
Given the support we have received from candidates throughout the campaign, we are optimistic for the future ahead. We look forward to seeing the next Programme for Government and what it can do for home care. HCCI will persist that as a country, we must improve access, expand the number of carers and hours delivered, and increase housing supply for older people.
